He cleared out Heaven for us! 

"On the off chance that anybody would come after Me- - he should deny himself and take up his cross and tail Me." Matthew 16:24

Let the sufferings of our Lord Jesus Christ, work us into a benevolent eagerness to grasp sufferings for His purpose, and merrily and undauntedly to take up His cross and tail Him.

Did Christ endure, who knew no wrongdoing - and might we consider it odd to endure, who know only sin?

Should He lie sweltering under His Father's fierceness - and might we shout out under men's outrage?

Is it safe to say that he was delegated with thistles - and must we be delegated with rose-buds?

Was as long as He can remember, from the support to the cross, made up of only distresses and sufferings- - and must our lives, from the support to the grave, be topped off with only joys and pleasures?

Is it safe to say that he was scorned - and must we be appreciated?

Is it accurate to say that he was corrupted - and must we be lifted up?

Is it accurate to say that he was poor- - and must we be rich?

Is it true that he was low- - and must we be high?

Did He drink of an intense glass, a bleeding container - and must we have just measures of relief?

Let us not think anything a lot to improve the situation Christ,

nor anything excessively incredible, making it impossible to languish over Christ,

nor anything too dear to part with for such a Christ, such a Savior- - who thought nothing an excessive amount to do, nor excessively egregious, making it impossible to endure - so He may fulfill crafted by our reclamation!

He cleared out Heaven for us- - and might not we let go of this world for Him?

He cleared out his Father's chest for us- - and might not we leave the chests of our dearest relations for him?

He experienced a wide range of sufferings for us- - let us as promptly experience with a wide range of sufferings for Him.
