Why do we love our neighbor as ourselves?
Why do we love our neighbor as ourselves?
It is the command of the Lord, so we have to obey it. Also we can fulfill the law through love. It is said that owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law. For the commandments, “you shall not commit adultery, you shall not murder, you shall not steal, you shall not covet and any other commandment, are summed up in this word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no wrong to a neighbor, therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. Beside this we know the time that the hour has come for us to wake from sleep. Let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly as in the daytime. Do not make provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the God is not in him. For all that is in the world – the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in the possessions – is not from the God but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.
The darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining. Whoever says he is in the light and hates God and his brother is still in the darkness. Whoever loves God and his brother abides in the light, and in him there is no cause of stumbling. But whoever hates God and his brother is in the darkness, and does not know where he is going because the darkness has blinded his eyes. Therefore, the end of all things is at hand. Be self-controlled and sober-minded for your own sake. Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.
Also keep this fact in our minds and hearts. If we are not loving one another. It is not the problem to God but its result will return on our own heads. But still God is sovereign to control everything. God takes great care to comfort His people in their many trials and sorrows in this world. One of the goals which He commands His preachers, teachers, rulers and philosophers etc. to have, is the comfort of his people because He is the God of all comfort. He comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
Are we loving one another? Are we comforting one another?
This universe is His lovely creation. We all are His offspring. To love God or to live with Him simply means to love His creations and to render every possible service to for the betterment of them. The very justification of your existence assigned to you by Him is to liberate this universe from all kinds of agonies – physical, natural, social-political, economic, religio-cultural etc.
The new religion must not try to prove any particular place, person, religion, philosophy, economy, community, caste, sex, relationship superior to other one. It must try to sprout/germinate the innate love for one another in the universe by the Grace of God. We advocate reconciliation and harmony. We advocate the value of life, liberty, peace and bliss. The people living with God can never be antagonistic to his neighbor. In other word, one man cannot destroy another man.
"We are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God has before ordained that we should walk in them." Since God has ordained that His people walk in good works, we are assured that God will graciously cause them to do so by the sweet constraint of His grace. Grace experienced, makes us gracious. Mercy tasted, makes us merciful. Faith bestowed, makes us faithful. Kindness known, makes us kind. Forgiveness enjoyed, makes us forgiving.
Love felt, makes us loving. These are not suggestions about what God's people ought to be, but statements of fact about what all true we are. We are a people who, being saved by grace, ruled by love, and motivated by gratitude--seek the will and glory of God in all things. "For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age"

Therefore, if you are not able to build the world of others then please don’t tear it down too. So everyone must work to provide the pleasure in the midst of painful world by loving one another. But the ultimate solution of the problems is God only.
