The Hope of This World

This is a world of Satan. This is a world of selfish people. This is the world of mad or crazy people. We listen such statements every day. A man is a problem to another man. You are a problem to me and I am a problem to you. Unfortunately, we perceive the problems created by others to us but we never realize how problematic we are to others. In this chapter, we will try to examine the factors responsible for our insensitivity to our fellow men to the universe and to the nature as a whole. The systematic treatment is not a permanent cure will have to probe into the rudiment of the diseases and then only proper mode of treatment can be prescribed.

A Corrupted Individual

Let us start from Individual. Every individual is crazy for personal pleasure and profit. It is good but is it good to gain pleasure or profit at the cost of others’ happiness? Should we not expect the same behavior from others to us as we behave to them? We are hypocrites. We are not honest. Even in love making, a wife grumbles that the husbands goes to club even when she is laying on the sick bed. The husband compels that his wife is observed in idle gossips even when he is hungry and needs some food. This is the case with other members of the family ties in different blood relations. The old joint family system ended and the new family means wife, husband and kids. The concept of family has already been narrowed but could the members of the narrow family also be happy? No. Why? The concept of individuality made us too selfish. Everybody in the family has created a world of his own. The emotional tie has been lost. Everybody is an island unconnected, secluded. They are not the waves of the same ocean. This selfishness is the fatal paw or pam of the Satan. 

To revive the lost emotions of togetherness will have to revive the two most valuable/precious lost values: Sacrifice and Self Control. Our parents got pleasure in taking pains for each other in the family. They were ready to suffer, there was a sense of natural gratification in their sacrifice. Now the case is reversed. Nobody in the family is ready to sacrifice his/her individual interest for others in the family. Thus, there is a squabble from mourning to might.

Previously family was supposed to be the first school of ideal citizenship. Babies learnt, know, imbibed the virtues like service, compassion, cooperation etc. in the family. If anybody was sick everybody was concerned about. Women were wide awake for the whole night if essential when any member of the family was a victim of smallpox, malaria or any other diseases. The lesson of service automatically was sprouted. There was no discrimination like my child and your child. If anybody was in financial need, everybody was happy to support him. How, when, why, the fountain of this spontaneous love dried up? The relationship was not formal or based on condition/compromise. The Satan entered into the heart of the individual first in the form of gross individual interest – individual interest to cater of/quench the sensuous desires – the sentiment of sacrifice/making sacrifice vanished. The world of an individual narrowed to himself. Expansion of emotion could not expand to family, society, mission and universalism.

An Unnatural Universe

Before world wars the whole focus of the scriptures, preachers, thinkers, philosophers and claimed seers was on the morality. They believed that the God has embodied us with a pure conscience which distinguishes good from bad. They insisted on the constant war going on Satan and God. The debate of consciousness and matter was there.  They tried to prove that the human consciousness can change the material condition. That matter changes the consciousness was propounded in the later period. To maintain the purity of soul or consciousness was accepted as the prime objective of life. Only those people, who were far away from lies, violence, lust, accumulating material wealth, stealing etc. were highly honored in the society. They were virtuous people. Their heart dazzled with divine rays, they were free from sins and full of virtues. But the world wars shattered these values.

Now the value of physical violence or power was established. The countries vied for producing or buying more and more missiles and bombs. Speaking lies are not vice rather a virtue. The power to kill was worshipped. The more wealthy country was the more respect deserved. For example: Indian PM is not receiving Nepali PM at airport. Similarly, American President is not receiving the Indian PM at airport. Though they called one another to visit their countries. Thus all the parameters of old virtues were reversed. It has two consequences – one, it brought a sea changes in the trends of philosophies, political system, cultures, arts and other branches of knowledge. It had its deep negative repercussion on the thoughts and behaviors patterns of the nations to individuals.

We have seen the consequences. Now the challenge of our proposed universal concept of respect and love is to change the individual mind. We again will have to search and research the values for the emergence of new man, for the everlasting survival of our beautiful universe. A man seasoned with the attributes of God. There is a no away out. The change in the minds of individuals can only change the whole world scenario. The families must help in creating an atmosphere around to emerge this new man.

Thoroughly We are Corrupted

Everyone is responsible for making the individual and world thoroughly corrupt. None can remained corrupt-less. Everyone is sinner. Everyone is polluting the world every day. Not only an individual but all commit the sins. Every one teaches others to do the same. None is serious to renounce and to reduce it. For example, if somebody wants to contact you on phone or at your residence, you say your kids do inform the contact maker that you are not available. You are making your kids liars. But you expect them to be candid. Your kids see you bringing money of corruption or embezzlement. How can they be corruption-free or corruption-less. They notice your voluptuous acts. They can never be abstemious. You watch the blue films hiding from your kids but they know. Rather they become more curious to everything about sex. You quarrel with your spouse from dawn to dusk, how can they be peace loving. When you turn the radio or television set on they see the acts of sex and violence every day. Would it not affect his/her innocent mind?  For ages immemorial it has firmly been believed that our thoughts to can change the whole atmosphere with positive or negative vibrations. It has scientifically get proved that positive thoughts help to secrete negative hormone. Every disease is psychosomatic. Psycho has a tremendous effect on our physical condition. The points of paramount importance is to start the change right from the individual. Revolution starts from individual’s mind because the problems like there. It has to be changed.

Undoubtedly we have made our children bad man right from an inception of a child. We start thinking to mold his personality in our own images. The Bible says after the fall Adam bore a son in his own image, sinful man in this world (Gen. 4:1) through he got the baby with the help of God as the Living Gift to train him after the way of God.

There is an unresolved controversy that is a newly born baby possesses a pure immaculate, unpolluted tender soul? No. He/she born with the corrupt nature. And it is we who also pollute them. We inject in the veins of the babies that they belong to a particular country, caste, greed, religion, sex etc. We condition their minds in our own way. We put the fuel into the fire to flame more strongly. With their growth, purity and innocence are vanished gradually. We have no right to fill these divine gifts, heart with mad ambitions to be a doctor, engineer or pilot. The worst of it is that we shove them to a mad race of competition. We often entice them like a Satan to be a particular professional because the profession will give him a copious amount of money or a social status or access to a big power or high position. We have no right to snatch his own dreams. Compassion with others is fatal is born unique. We distort his uniqueness and make him ugly. There are five factors responsible for the formation of one’s personality as we know:

1.     Gene in of paternal as well as maternal sides

2.     Atmosphere/circumstance

3.     Schooling

4.     His own gained experienced

5.     Some born traits/faculties/God-given quality

Hence, it is proved with the above mentioned evidences that we are responsible for the sinful generation to come, not they themselves only.

The Doubled Minded People

The circumstances are self-poisoning today. We see in the society only those people are respected highly who are hypocrites, tricksters, killers, cunnings, manipulators. Hundreds and thousands books have been written on how can a man manipulate the situation and become successful. Innumerable books are published every week to promote personality and ethics. Inspirational books are published. Inspirational seminars are arranged every day. All such endeavors target to make man deceptors. There is no authenticity in the personality. They tend to produce split personalities. They are taught to change the hundreds outer masks from dawn to dusk. They really are forced to live in an illusionary world of their own creations. There real identities get lost gradually. When one forgets his own real self, tragedies down in the lives. How tragic is it to get befuddled about one’s own self. Even the Medias are misleading and polluting news related to assassinations, violence of rules, cut throat competitions in the area of our politics, glamorizing the corrupt people. The serials, the dramas, the songs displayed are not only immoral but snatchers of domestic, social, political harmony. What to talk of the flouting nakedness! Our whole socio-political system is corrupt. We are just helpless parts of the system wheels.

The academic scenario is terrible/ferocious.  For the students, admitted knowledge is not an end. It is a means to attain material success. For the teachers, teaching is not a pious mission but a device to earn livelihood. Of course, they possesses star images for their students but everywhere they have failed to prove themselves role models. They hold low profile personalities in-comparison to powerful politicians and bureaucrats. In this corrupt socio-political system, no any profession has remained pure – without teaching being an exception. The moment teachers are given opportunities to join bureaucracy as per his qualification or gets political nomination he is happy to abandon his profession. Intellectuals and professionals are divided in the name of political parties. Their identities are their political alliance groups. They play and become the part of this division to get the benefits of various lucrative and high position, not for the development and some benevolence work.

Similar is the case with the curriculum. There is no room in the curriculum for making the professionals moralists or virtuous cadres. The curricula furnishes with information devoid of wisdom. The whole academic ambiance is so distressful. The teacher’s union, the student’s union, the workers union in academic institutions are ever ready to politicize the academic climate. This scenario is alarming. The academic institutions have produced only negatively charged citizens in the world for the last centuries. They have produced corrupt politicians, lying advocates, money extorting doctors, commission monger architects. Those charted accountants are supposed to be brilliants who can deceive the government and save the money of the companies. Such is the case with almost all the professionals. Even the religious preachers hypocritically deliver hypnotic lectures and deceive gullible public. They have been found indulged in adultery, amassing wealth and deceiving others.

With the enhancement of knowledge we would have to be more responsible but the numbers of immoral and hypocrites are increasing day by day. It is impossible to find the individual, who works to promote the peace and harmony. We have been become more insensitive gradually. We have become insensitive to the sufferings around. We have created world in which the virtuous people suffer and sinners enjoy. The more virtuous, we are more, we suffer and insulted. Farmers and labors are much more honest than the so-called intellectuals, bureaucrats, politicians, capitalists, industrialists and bankers. But they are trodden down like grasses and sands. Our scientific and technological inventions have become the means to destroy also. The evidences are countless. Even our network system is weapon of criminals and culprits.

The most fatal consequence of our wrong education system can be experienced in our insensitivity to ecology. Instigated by strong greed to yield abundance of grains we used pesticides to turn the lands into barren fields. We erected vast industries to fill the ecology with carbons, to make the hole in ozone layer and to affect the green house. We were expected to love our mother earth (the beautiful creation of God) but we cruelly raped her. The mother was already feeding here breast with love. But we squeezed them so hard that they have started blooding/sprouted bleeding. The earth is on the verge of doom. If we don’t change we will finish. It has become inevitable to make new man.

Every Day is The Day of Judgment

Selah. It is a Hebrew word, which means wait, see and think. It also means to chew, churn and digest. But we are living in the days of instant gratification. At the back of truck and other vehicles, I have seen a writing “No Time for Love” and other absurd and rude slogans. People seem busy. If you observe them, then you will find that they are not busy in making valuable things but they are really busy-bodies, involved in the useless, unproductive and non-profitable works. Some do not have time to churn over their thoughts and actions. So our first need to do the assessment of self-image because every day is the Day of Judgment. In other word, we must do the self-examination every day. Our days must start and finish with the self- judgment with repentance and restoration.

The concept behind every day is the Day of Judgment is alarming. It truly conveys the need of self-evaluation. Though the word “self- evaluation” has become the clichés in midst of individual, organization and society today. Still it is done superficially. It needs the graveness and honesty of every one. The big INGOs, religious and humanitarian societies have promoted the concept of the self-evaluation through local agencies and mentioned it in their literatures many times to make the people aware. Its repetitions indicates its importance. But every one use it for their own sake. It has become the good weapons in the hand of the negative forces. They keep evaluating their tactics to accomplish their purposes. The impact of the self-evaluation in the side of the positive forces are less because many did not care about it. It is the bad teaching of these organizations and institutions, which are the network of the capitalists to the world under their controls. It is the means of them to rule over the world indirectly and directly.

Self-evaluation is the synonymous of judgment. Its aim to judge ourselves on the basis of the universal or prescribed codes and conducts, so that we have to see our every action and intention of our heart. We must pause and spend some time in the evaluation of our deeds and it affects in our own life, family and society. We must critically observe its positive and negative influences. If we do it regularly and intentionally then we will get time to correct our mistakes and the bad influences of others over us. Otherwise, we have to regret after knowing its wrong impacts upon everywhere and everyone. But we will find ourselves hopeless in that state and do not get time to recover from that loss. Also in almost all religious scriptures, we find powerful references of the Day of Judgment after death. The world to be attained after death is unknown to us. Except scriptures, we do not have evidences of the existence of heaven or hell. The science is helpless. No device has been invented to connect with the dead man. Neither anybody has returned and told us directly about his experiences of heaven and hell. In this case, will it be wise to discard all those descriptions of the Day of Judgment as referred in the holy books? Let us be reasonable and logical.

The judgment, humanly speaking, means the assessment of the public and secret works and thoughts as well as the felling and the intention of the heart to distinguee and declare that some are wrong and some are right. What one believe will not matter but he/she has to give the account before the Judge and He will give the verdicts, which He is keeping with himself from the beginning.

Mockery of the Judgment.

Scientifically speaking, before the existence of this universe there was an endless void. So it is described in our big bang theory. This universe emerged out of that endless void. How something may come from nothing. This simply makes us to believe that the endless void was not “Nothing”. It was something and that something must have been full of life. The philosophers say that Nothing comes out from nothing; something comes out from something. Otherwise, life couldn’t have emerged from that we may call that the endless void “an ocean of consciousness”. Plants and animals only vary in the degree of consciousness. They are like pitchers or vessels – full of the water of consciousness filled from that ocean. After death also these pitchers or vessels may be turned to dust but the water of consciousness be merged in the same ocean. It sounds logical. Our science also believes that all our actions have their repercussions on our psyche. They are recorded in our consciousness. Every action has it equal reaction. So, logically the actions recorded in our consciousness deserve consequences. Virtuous actions deserve peace and bliss and sinful actions deserve inflections of pain.

Now the question arises who will decide about the reward or punishment here and after death? The answer is so simple. Only the Omnipotent, Omniscient and Omnipresent God has the power to give the judgment. We see in the world that powerful nations and people are appointed to execute the laws of God. God has lifted them up to do His works faithfully and honestly but they are manipulating their rights and power to have their influence over others or to get the other kinds of benefits. It is because of their manipulation, God will punish them too for their sins or unfulfilled works.  

God is doing survey of the affairs of the world every day. Have you paid attention ever that why God has planned and planted all the human organs and administrative system in the universe? The God gave the ear to every creature to hear them. Can you say o man, who has power to make ear cannot hear you? He gave eyes to every creature to see their conditions. How can you say o man who has create the eye cannot see your hidden works? The present judgment and governing systems are the replica of this truth. Every things is recoded in the heart of man of the books of the administration of the nations. God can see all the recorded things seen and unseen. Therefore, none can escape the judgment of the Almighty. One can escape the judgment of man but God. The words of authorities are strong irrefutable evidences of it. If we are not aware of the words of the God, we are walking corpuses. Our bodies are like flutes and the soul is the music of the Lord. Our bodies are the tools of evil doings. We turn a deaf ear to this divine music going on only when the Satan strangles us. We become enticed or helpless by satanic power. We are like calf tied with a rope. We have limited latitude to move to a certain distance, that is our free will. It is up to us whether we surrender our free will to the service of the Satan or God. That means we will have to decide whether we select a virtuous or sinful life. We prefer heaven and hells. The choice is ours. This statement may be supported by the scientific theory of the cause and effect.

The Bad Legacy

The effects of the upbringing and the philosophies of the world in the mind, consciousness and lifestyle of Individual. In the traditions of the society, it is rooted and grounded directly and indirectly. These direct and indirect effects create the civilization, which we get as the legacy from the parents and society. So the world has influenced by two major philosophical effects: Eastern and Western. The oriental cultural is very different then the western culture. The power of philosophy upon the people is very strong and subtle. For example, the Post Modern philosophy promoted the pluralistic version of truth, Gnosticism, skepticism, agnosticism and … whereas the eastern promotes the pantheism, idolatry and etc. In other word, this is good for me and that is good for you. In some extent, diversities are there. It does not mean that killing is good for me and killing is not good for you. Thus, the philosophical and traditional legacies for us is the bad legacy. They made void the universal standard. Therefore, we must set the good example.  

We have to develop the good lifestyle, personality, tradition and philosophy to set the good legacy for our generations and the generation which will come. The new man must be sensitive to his fellowman and surroundings. He must be virtuous. He must be sacrificing. He is already so but the spontaneous flow of love, compassion, sacrifice has been obstructed by the heavy/monstrous rock of selfishness. For the emergence of the new man let us push that monstrous rock away forever and for all. To providing a proper womb for the birth of our desired new man, we all will have to create a world in which only virtuous people are honored but not sinful.

People have no value under sins. People are disregarded. People hates humanity, social norms again. We have to go back to reconsider the primitive vales and social actions to adopt them again to change the society. For this we will make the world beautiful if people love good norms and values. The degree of honor to a man in the society must be based on the nobility of his thoughts, feelings and behaviors but not on the basis of the wealth, power, position, prestige or high academic qualification. Don’t honor the bad man but the real and authentic man with good and solid human character.

God made them accountable on the basis of the laws and conscience. God has written His truth in the heart of human beings, so now they have no excuse of their wrong doings. They suppressed the truth and didn’t care the signal of their conscience. The world knows God and His truth but not able act accordingly. Thus, the new man, who is restored and reconciled with God, is the hope of the world.
